About the Franchise

Bandag SA, the franchisor manufactures pre-cure rubber and other materials used in the tyre retreading industry. It supplies 34 franchisees in Sub-Saharan Africa. The company’s dealer network is made up of 34 independently owned manufacturing franchises to whom it offers products, services, information and programs.

In turn, the dealer network then supplies/offers these PSIPs to their respective customers. In addition Bandag also offers a Bandag Truck Service (BTS) franchise which carrries a monthly fee.The emphasis of a BTS franchise is service.

With the commoditisation of tread rubber products, Bandag identified the need to offer programs that enable end-users to obtain vital information, thus allowing them to make informed decisions. The BTS franchisees, without having to concern themselves with the manufacturing of the retread product, can then concentrate on offering the end-user the services needed to run a profitable business.

It also offers an emergency tyre assistance service. This is an on-the-road breakdown service provided by Bandag and its approved Service providers through-out South Africa. It is a 24 hour, seven day a week service.
