Galito’s Going Global

South African flame-grilled chicken franchise Galito’s, founded in 1996, is proving South African brands can measure up and compete with international brands abroad. Founded in 1996 with branches across Africa and Canada, they’re now heading off to the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

Having signed a franchise deal with Tablez Food Company (TFC), the food and beverage division of LuLu International Group, TFC will also handle Galito’s upcoming branches in India and
Sri Lanka.

The deal includes opening 15 outlets in the UAE over the next four years and investing approximately R160 million, and a further R100 million to launch 10 outlets in India over the next five years.

“We’re excited to partner with TFC, which has in-depth knowledge and experience and enjoys a significant international market presence. We look forward to bringing our customised meal options to the Middle East’s health-conscious diners,” says Galito’s CEO, Louis Germishuys.
